Bought our first home from McGeown's and found them great to deal with from start to finish. Always on the other end of the phone when I had questions and always prompt and professional with replies.Would highly recommend this company.

Very disappointing service.Stranmillis Wharf properties were sold, including on-site, between 2002 and 2004.I viewed one such property, a Penthouse, around June 2003, during open public viewing. However when I called round to the development to give them the holding deposit, for the Penthouse they had originally offered me, the Penthouse was suddenly unavailable..(But it still took several more months to actually sell it...)The Ground floor apartment was now the only one available. The property that I had initially viewed and shown interest in, was the Penthouse. So I was disappointed that it was no longer available.I eventually bought the ground floor property from them, but when I went to collect the keys they (on behalf of the Developer) offered me 5000 to switch to a bigger property... This offer was increased to 10,000...I rejected both offers. I still preferred the one I had now chosen, albeit my 2nd choice. It was however a fair proposal that they had put to me.But there were several problems with the apartment that I had actually bought. There was much confusion over payment for the lift. I had been given a Service Charge itemised bill that excluded payment for the lift. That was because there was no lift in this part of the Block. The apartment above mine obviously had no lift access either.Stranmillis Wharf Management Company later changed the schedule of my fees, so that I actually had to pay for the lift, even though I was originally given an itemised bill that excluded payment towards the lift.I would thus have expected that the vendor could have given me all the information about Management fees, before I agreed to buy. Management fees are always a very important consideration when purchasing, and I would expect selling agents to specify these exactly, so that prospective purchasers can see exactly how much they will have to pay, especially if there is a requirement in the lease to contribute towards a service that doesn't apply or exist in that particular area. Why was I given an itemised Service Charge Bill that excluded payment towards the lift, possibly in breach of the actual lease?I thought that the vendor could have clarified all of this, but perhaps the Solicitor should also have spotted this lease irregularity that occurred?Secondly I was allocated a parking space that was unusable. It was considerably narrower than Planning Service minimum width specification.I was offered a space in the Visitors area as an alternative. That was totally unacceptable to me.It eventually took about 3 years to sort this problem out. I expected McGeown's to persuade the Developer to resolve the issue. But the issue just didn't get resolved.I eventually had to involve Planning Service who investigated the issue. The Enforcement section of Planning stated that there was a "non compliance" with regulations on car parking, and therefore a "breach of planning" at Stranmillis Wharf. Eventually the parking space was amended, on the Decree from Planning. But it was 3 years of complete frustration.I also found McGeown's unhelpful about a boundary dispute, when the Developer moved the Development boundary closer to my property, without any notice.I didn't expect the common area of a property complex that I had bought into, would suddenly shrink in size overnight. But that's exactly what happened. The selling agent didnt help to remedy the disappearance of this land from the property complex. This disappearance of grounds from Stranmillis Wharf directly and adversely affected the actual property that I had purchased from the above vendor. I was therefore extremely disappointed.A most disappointing experience dealing with this company. From the confusion about Management fees; an unusable car parking space that took around 3 years to resolve, and boundary disputes that directly impinged on my property, I feel that McGeown's could have been much more helpful, and professional. And on that basis I unfortunately cannot recommend them.

Dossapointg service from this agency. Had a viewing arranged at 10AM at property and nobody showed up. Phoned them 4 times and was reassured that the agent is waiting at the property with 2 other clients. The gates however were closed and there was no answer on the door. An agent finally arrived at 10:30 at which point we have decided that we have wasted enough time.

Couldnt rate these estate agents higher. Excellent service, I was shown around the same properties twice by two very pleasant, patient and knowledgable gentlemen (Roger and Trevor I believe their names were?) they both had brochures with them for me, offered subsequent viewings nothing was a bother to them and they did a follow up call a couple of days later. I would definetly recommend them to anyone, buying or selling.

Excellent service. The staff were all incredibly pleasant and helpful. Would highly reccomend.
