Car was booked in for service at 10:30 am. I arrived on time and hopped on the courtesy bus into the city centre (Clarence street). The bus drove past The Jeep centre and had to be called back for me to get on. Received a call at 3:42 pm to tell me that my car would be ready in 20 minutes. Over 5 and a half hours to do a routine service? Ive had that experience in Hursts before so I knew roughly it would be that long. I was told, twice, by the driver that the last bus of the day would be on Clarence street at 5:15 pm. I arrived on Clarence street at 4:55 pm. After 30 minutes (5:25 pm), I called Charles Hurst to see if the bus was still coming. I was told that the bus was probably stuck in traffic and to call back in 10 minutes if it didnt arrive. I received a call at 5:36 pm telling me that the bus would be there in 5 minutes. The bus did not arrive until 6:03 pm, almost 1 hour and 10 minutes after I arrived on Clarence street and 48 minutes late. None of the four people getting on to the bus received an apology from the driver, just where are you going to?. -1 degrees outside in heavy snow. Annoyed is an understatement. Any other car dealership would offer to pay for a taxi or arrange a better lift for customers. Unacceptable, hence the one star review.
Sales and service great I would recommend anyone to talk to salesman Richard when buying a new car. Very understanding and knows his cars. Kevin at service will greet you with enthusiasm and get you fixed up and on your way quickly
I have bought 5 cars through Charles Hurst over the last 10 years and my 5th car has been a nightmare from the day i bought it. They are very unhelpful and I am taking legal action against them. I advise anyone wanting to buy a car from Charles Hurst to reconsider and buy a car elsewhere. Stay clear!
Great sized facilities. Good Parking. Disabled friendly. Plenty of choice in stock for van, car and motorcycle. Plenty of brand name choice. Both new and used. Good after service department. Facilities are clean and tidy. Child play area. Great for mother's and toddlers. Motorcycle shops have a good range of accessories, clothing and apparel and helmets for sale.
